Founders

Kent Leighton

Kent has over 40 years of construction experience working across the US in all phases of the Real Estate Development and Construction Industry and is a licensed Texas All Lines Insurance Adjuster. In 1992 he co-founded a highly successful construction company which was based in South Florida with projects throughout the US. He has been active in various industry associations including AGC (Associated General Contractors) where he was Board Chairman of the SE Fl Chapter. In the past he also has been active in the SMPS, ULI, NAIOP, ICSC and various Chamber of Commerces.

He sold his interest in his construction company in 2006 and relocated to his native Texas settling near the high-tech haven of Austin to develop Construction Connection.

He and his wife Sandy reside on their ranch just outside Austin along with the obligatory farm animals including Lucy the Border Collie, MeMe the barn cat, Charlie the painted donkey and horses, Apollo & Forbes. They are involved in their church, their family, their community and charity. Kent serves on the Board of the Methodist Mission Home in San Antonio, Texas and is a founding board member of the Genesis Cooperative, a non-profit organization which provides management, administrative, financial and technical services and collaborative opportunities to small NPO's.

Kent grew up on a working cattle ranch and enjoys hunting, fishing and the outdoors. He is also an instrument rated aviator who files various aircraft, helicopters and sailplanes.

Suzanne Breistol

Suzanne has over 12 years of professional recruiting experience and 10 years sales and project management experience in the construction industry. Suzanne resides in South Florida and focuses on marketing and business development for the company. Suzanne also has a consulting firm for the development and construction industry in Florida and volunteers in the local construction community. Suzanne currently sits on the Board of ASPE( American Society of Professional Estimators), volunteers for SCORE Miami and sits on a Program Advisory Committee for a local University. Suzanne has served past on Education Committees for the Construction Association, as Chair of The Women's Council of ABC and as an active member of AGC including facilitating seminars and events for these associations. Suzanne is married to John who is also employed in the industry and they have three beautiful daughters, Alexa, Hannah and Samantha. The whole family participates in both church and civic events and loves to spend as much time as possible on the water. Yes, they have family pets also; Frankie and Juliet the bearded dragons, Miss Kitty the spoiled cat, Bandit the Maine Coon and a pet frog named Joey.
